Since shooting to fame over a decade ago, Rihanna has established herself as a Grammy winning artist, actress, fashion designer and beauty guru (heard of a little thing called Fenty Beauty?). She also happens to provide endless style and make-up inspiration since she’s never one to shy away from experimenting with her look, so here are some of our all time favourite beauty looks from the current British Vogue cover star…
If you don’t want to stray too far from your beauty comfort zone but are hoping to replicate one of Riri’s looks, this one is a good place to start. A red lip is a classic beauty look but a deep plum hue is also timeless (and perfect for Autumn!). Pair with a soft smokey eye and a smudged winged liner to let your lips stand-out.
On the other hand, if you’re not a make-up wallflower; experiment with a metallic lippie for a punk inspired look á la Rihanna. Green isn’t a colour you often associate with a lipstick but as usual, she’s pulling it off! Keep your skin dewy and eye make-up minimal so it doesn’t look overdone.
A bronzed smokey eye, nude lip, winged liner and flawless skin is a make-up look that suits everyone; regardless of skintone or eye colour. Fill in your brows to add to the ‘polished’ feel and use a lipliner in a slightly darker shade to your lipstick/gloss to add definition to your lips.
She’s the undisputed queen of the MET Gala and rocked this OTT pink blusher and eyeshadow look at last year’s Comme des Garçon themed event. She’s probably the only person who could pull this off without looking like they have a rash, so we’ll be opting for a more subtle take when we try this on ourselves…
If you’d rather experiment with your eye make-up over lips, do like Rihanna and embrace colour pop shades to clash with your outfit! It’s one of the easiest ways to add a playful touch to your look and Rihanna’s cobalt hue makes her green eyes pop.
This is without a doubt, one of Rihanna’s most iconic looks! When attending the 2014 CFDA Awards, she went for a barely-there Swarovski covered Adam Selman dress that hit global headlines but when it came to her make-up, she kept it classic with a smoked out eye and pink lip.
If you’re looking to add a subtle pop of colour into your make-up, blend a metallic green shade with gold and charcoal hues for a more wearable look. Add an update to your usual winged eyeliner by smoking out the wing right up to your eyebrows!
