There are some people who just never seem to put a sartorial foot wrong. Whether they’re heading on a night out or grabbing coffee, they always look effortlessly stylish – Jodie is one of those people. Need some style inspo to know what to pair with your culottes? She’s your girl! Get to know her a little better below 👇🏼
Which emoji(s) best describe you?
Definitely the eye roll one because I’m probably the most sarcastic person you’ll ever meet and I get frustrated with things really easily. I also use the upside down face a lot as it’s perfect for when you don’t know what else to say. The leaf emoji describes me pretty well too as I’m a vegan and I like buying plants!
Heels or flats?
Flats all day every day, I’m all for being comfortable! I basically live in my Old Skool Vans, High Top Converse and Stan Smiths. I wore my sandals until mid-September because I couldn’t bring myself to putting boots on, although I am very much back into them now! I have a super comfortable pair of heels from River Island though, and they’re my go-to shoe on a night out!
What items do you always carry in your handbag?
Lipsticks. Lots of lipsticks. And they’re almost always Kat Von D ones! Also, I always have a mini concealer, a mirror, some chewing gum, a hairbrush… and a ton of receipts.
If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
Manchester for sure! It’s not the most adventurous answer but because I’m really into that kind of music, I feel like I belong there! A few of my friends have moved to Australia, but I don’t think I could ever move too far from home because I like being so close to all my family and friends. Although I did feel really at home when I visited Copenhagen and Brussels…
Who is your style icon and why?
I don’t think I have one particular style icon! A few grids that I’m always looking at are Megan Ellaby, Chloe Plumstead, Bex Robb, Bex Fountain and Chloe Robertson. I love what Nancy (Stranger Things) and Sophia (Girl Boss) wear too!
What made you start using Looker?
I loved the concept of it as it’s accessible to everyone and really easy to use. It’s great that it’s tucked away in a nice little app, and you don’t get annoying emails from it! The best thing about it is that it’s not driven by likes and followers so it doesn’t feel like a massive competition!
Last books you read?
The last books I read on holiday were ‘The Girls’ by Emma Cline, ‘Girl Boss’ by Sophia Amoruso and (don’t laugh) ‘Letters To My Fanny’ by Cherry Healy! I’d recommend them all and I should probably read more than when I’m on holiday!
Must-have beauty buy under a tenner?
The Ordinary foundation! It’s only £6, amazing coverage, stays on all day and it’s cruelty-free!
When did you start blogging?
I’ve just checked, and my first blog post was 16th October 2013, so it’ll be 5 years in October. Definitely going to make a note of the date and have a party this year! I’ve been a bit of an off and on blogger, but I’m determined to stick with it this year. I’ve got a new camera and lots of trips planned so I’m raring to go!
What items are your wardrobe essentials?
A baker boy hat, a black roll neck, some culottes and a bright coat! Oh, and a good pair of trainers!
